As a special education teacher, I have the privilege of working with children and teens who remind me every day that differences are not limitations—they are strengths. Too often, the world focuses on what sets kids apart instead of recognizing the unique gifts they bring.

I wrote these books to celebrate those gifts, to show children that they are valued and loved just as they are, and to encourage others to respond with kindness, patience, and respect.
